Being a mommy to a little boy, I know that smells happen. I also know that when such smells come to pass, literally, it's "so cool!" and we must observe and shout hooray for such awesome smells! It must be a guy thing!
So last week at school, in a class full of little boys, there was a smell. Not just a "Oooops! One managed to squeak out at school" smell, a full on "this one smells like daddy!" smell. Kill me! I thought that this would quickly float on, but it lingered for quite a very long time! Lovely! After the first few minutes I was able to pin point who this little character was that was producing such a vile smell. And let me tell you! He thought it was HILARIOUS! He would drop a bomb and giggle until he couldn't breathe! Some of them were accompanied with a little "Ooopsy! I tooted! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!" As I sit thinking, "I'm going to need a gas mask to get through this one!"
Needless to say, by the time it was our turn to start rotations, I had been standing at the door hoping to catch a glimpse of fresh air! I have NEVER been around so much boy smell in my life and that's saying something! As I rounded up the kids to head up for music, I had the idea to open my window! Yes! It will air it out nicely and by the time we get back, I won't be assaulted by the green fog of death. Unfortunately, although I have two lovely windows in my classroom, neither one open. There goes that thought!
After settling the kids in music, I ran down to spray some Lysol with the hope that I could return to a peaceful smell in my classroom. It seriously smelled like a dirty diaper had been left in there! Gross! When rotations were done, the green fog was still slightly lingering, So thanks to the kid who "tooted" his way through the morning, my kids got extra play time outside and I could breathe easy :)
