Self-Control

I recently had this great idea... My husband just loves my great ideas! Usually this means that he gets to listen to a bunch of ranting and brainstorming for at least an hour. The best part? My ideas usually happen while we are getting ready for bed or laying in bed. Anyways... The other night we were watching this show called Fat Chef. Horrible title, but still, we must watch. There was this Chef on there from Boston who was trying to lose weight because she was fat. Well let me tell you! Home girl chef weighed in only 15 pounds more than I currently weigh! BLAST!!! This chick is getting her own show and a professional trainer for 16 weeks to drop some poundage while I sit and chow on my Chocolate/Peanut Butter ice cream in a waffle cone! UGH! We all know where this is going....

My fabulous cousin has started using the Weight Watchers program. Now, let me just say, I've done this before and I really enjoyed it! I saw the results and I never felt like I was starving or anything like that. So I tell B that we need to start eating healthier. He agree's. SUPER! Well, if you have tried shopping for a healthy life style it can get pretty spendy! You don't waltz in the store and think you're coming out spending less than $50. So instead of going crazy on healthy food, I thought portion control would be extremely helpful for us. (Keep in mind that as I say "us" it really means me. B doesn't even need to drop any pounds, he's just being supportive!) The other thing that I wanted to kick was the overload of candy and treats. Sigh... As I sit here writing all I really want is to have some Milk Duds, but alas, I shall refrain.

I think the biggest part of all this isn't turning my kitchen into an organic festival, it's putting some effort into controlling the amount that I eat. I'm not planning on going hungry, I would probably DIE if that was the option, I just need to make a better effort at using self-control. BOOM! It can (and must) be done :)
