Kaden "Mommy! I just LOVE to help you wash the clothes!"
Oh how I wish I had the enthusiasm of my 3 year old! It would seriously come in handy this morning. Confession time!! I do not like laundry. Wait... that's not an accurate description. I LOATHE laundry. I don't know what it is. Just the idea of dedicating myself to a day of washing clothes is enough to make me put it off longer! Now, none of this is genetic. You should see my mom do laundry! Professional! She can bust out twice as much as I can in the same amount of time! Do I know how she does this? Clearly I do not! It's a mega talent though and I hope that someday I will be able to pull it off.
Now that you know how I feel about doing laundry, let's talk about folding laundry. Kill me! I could put off folding laundry for a month. I have no beef digging around a laundry basket trying to find exactly what I need. The problem with this is that a laundry basket takes up a ton more room than nicely folding the laundry and putting it away. In our room (Kaden and I share) there is seriously ZERO space for such things. Therefore, I am forced to fold. I have this little system that I use when I fold. I suppose that I have to come up with such things to make myself do it. Which probably sounds a little fifth grade, but oh well! I ALWAYS leave socks for the very last. As much as I loathe laundry, I cannot stand folding socks! It NEVER fails that one is missing. I'm not quite sure how that happens. You have two on your feet, two go into the hamper, and only ONE comes out of the dryer. WHAT?! Totally frustrating!! When Kaden was little, I tried using one of those laundry bag things. I loaded all of his socks in it and washed away! Do you think they were all there when I pulled it out? Yeah right!! One was always gone! I need a better system. I don't know if I should tie them together or what, but I really need to figure it out!
Once upon a time, I was very organized in my laundry doing. It was all done in ONE day. From start to finish. I should probably get to it and accomplish that goal today. Maybe then the rest of the week will be a little less hectic :)

This is how make laundry day fun! I dress up! It started because i would have to find some sort of clothes because all the rest were dirty... but now i purposely put on my 'laundry day pants'(which resemble mermaid silky green MC hammer pants) and usually a crown just ends up on my head. Its quite the sight but so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteYour little Kaden is SO darn cute! I bet you just love him to death! Both my boys are BIG helpers when it comes to laundry! They'll throw in anything they think needs washed! Sigh, being a mom is the best! Oh and your blog looks awesome by the way! :)
