Valentines Day Part 1 :)

For those of you who know me well... You know how I feel about Valentine's Day. Not a fan. It's a long story, which I won't get into now, but the holiday just rubs me the way wrong way.

Until now :)

I learned a very valuable lesson over this Valentine's weekend. I can't base my present or my future off of the past! Just because I have dated some real winners (heavy on the sarcasm) doesn't mean that every guy is like that! I'm now with a guy who is proving all of that right!

This weekend was beyond epic. On every level! Bryan is beyond thoughtful and he planned out everything so perfect! On Friday night, he came to get me for our night out. I had NO clue where we were going! He's great at keeping a surprise secret! I had tried to get if out of my brother, but he wouldn't budge. So I was completely clueless! As we drove I was trying to figure out where we going. Every time I thought I may have it figure out, we passed the freeway exit. Finally we ended up in SLC. How fun! There are so many places down there, I didn't even know where to start guessing! We parked at the Gateway, so we could have some time to wander the city.

I absolutely loved walking around downtown. It was a crowded night, because of the Jazz game, but it's just so fun to wander around down there. We walked through Temple Square and had a great time chatting! We continued our walk, with me not having a clue where we were headed, and we ended up at....

The Melting Pot! WHAT?! I was beyond excited! I had heard amazing things about the restaurant and I had always wanted to go! So exciting! Bryan had thought of absolutely everything! He made a reservation, knew what to order and had just put so much thought into our night. I felt so special! It was the best!

As we sat down, I realized that we were in for the meal of our life! I have to say, that up until that point, I hadn't ever been to such a fancy place! A four course dinner? Crazy wonderful! The meal started off with a Cheese Fondue Pot. We had apples, bread and fresh vegetables to dip in the Cheese. It was sooooo good!

After eating all that deliciousness, I was curious how I would find room for more! But I managed! Ha! Our next course was an amazing salad! YUM! It was the most artsy looking salad I've ever eaten! I loved it!

Up next was the main course... The meat! Holy delicious! I usually don't take the opportunity to expand my horizons, but this opportunity was too good to pass up! I had to try it all! Even the shrimp... which was a HUGE thing for me! I couldn't believe how great it all was. Each of the meats, Duck, Chicken, Fillet Mignon, Teriyaki Steak, and Shrimp, tasted so good after being cooked in the Coco van sauce. It was absolute heaven! Along with the meat came vegetables to be cooked in the sauce. They were so great! This may come as a shock, because it was to me, but my favorite meat ended up being the Duck dipped in the Sweet and Sour sauce. I'm so very glad Bryan had me try that! It was delicious!

By this time, I was stuffed! We had eaten so much food that I really wasn't sure about the dessert course. Until I saw it! Hello! How in the world could I walk away from this?!

Yeah... I wasn't about to turn that up! It was beyond good! We had a white chocolate sauce with caramelized sugar on top. The waiter sprayed 151 Rum on the sugar and the pot looked like this:

It was so cool! After the rum had burned off, we dug right in! It was pure epicness in my mouth! Yummy! The Strawberries dipped in the White Chocolate were my favorite!

When we finished up the meal, we decided to walk back to the car. It was kinda chilly, but I didn't even care. I was so happy to be walking through the streets with the best company and having the easiest, most carefree conversation ever. The night was absolutely perfect! When we got back to my house, I had another surprise! Bryan pulled out a beautiful rose and asked me if I would accept it. Melt my heart! It was the perfect ending to the perfect date! I am seriously the luckiest girl ever! :)
