Bountiful Baskets!

Can I just say how much I really do enjoy Bountiful Baskets? For those of you who may not know what this is, I shall explain! It's a co-op based out of Arizona. They provide fresh fruits and vegetables to various sites throughout 4 states. Lucky for us, they come here! For $15 you receive what would've cost you between $45 and $55 to purchase in the store. You place your order every Tuesday and pick up the order every Saturday. This week was our second time participating in this process. Have I mentioned I love this? Because I do! I love it so much that I was willing to get up in the 6's to go pick up our basket. (That is a HUGE sacrifice for me! Totally not a morning person!) For this order we not only purchased the basic basket, but we also got the 9 Grain bread (AMAZING!) and a citrus pack. Now, I'll admit, I'm not so great when it comes to trying new things. I like what I like and that's about it! But, I made it a personal goal to at least try the things that we receive in the baskets. Thus far I've tried grapefruit and sweet potatoes! May not seem like a huge accomplishment, but for my mouth it is! I think Bountiful Baskets is a GREAT program and I am so way glad that we are able to participate in it!

This is everything that we received today! We ended up paying $34 for all of it! How amazing is that?! We actually received 5 loaves of bread (they wouldn't all fit in the pic!) and that is only HALF of the citrus pack. We split it with my Gram because we were worried about eating it all. I would completely recommend trying out this offer. You can check out their site bountifulbaskets.org. The produce is amazing and it's such a great price! Totally worth getting up in the 6's! :)

  1. OK so I totally want to know more. I went to the site and it really didn't tell me anything. Like where do you have to go to pick it up? Is it first come first serve on ordering? And why is so cheap? Sounds great!

  2. Ok, here's some more questions? What is a co-op site? Why do they call it a contribution and not "the price of the basket"? It sounds like your donating. And is pick up time always EARLY in the morning? Please don't tell me it's down in Salt LAke.

  3. When you go to the site, click on Utah. If you scroll down, you'll find a list of available sites. There are 3 in my area to choose from. This last week we picked up by the Roy Fire Station. It is first come first serve on ordering. They have a limited amount of baskets per site. It's so cheap because everything is ran on a volunteer basis. All of the site coordinators and things all donate their time. They call it a contribution because sooner or later they want everyone who is purchasing baskets to volunteer. Which I think is a very easy concept for the price you pay! Pick up time varies from site to site. The Roy site is 7 a.m., but the site at West Haven Elementary is 8:30. Those are the only two we've been to so far. Usually the site will open Tuesday at noon. That's the best time to get on and read the info. It's a bit easier to understand! Hopefully this helped... It really is a wonderful way to get all your produce! The first time you order you'll pay a $3 first time fee for your basket. But then it's just $15 plus whatever extras you get. If you do order, you'll need to take something to pick up your stuff in. I didn't know that the first time! Lol! We just use a laundry basket and it all fits! I really hope you do this! It's so amazing :)
